Market City

Market City is a multi-cultural shopping centre which sits at the southern end of Sydney’s CBD. It is surrounded by precincts such as Chinatown, Darling Harbour, Darling Square, Central Station and the educational facilities of UTS and Ultimo Tafe. The centre was established in 1997 inside a heritage listed building which was built in 1909 as the city’s vegetable markets.

The centre has become a symbol of the Haymarket area and an important part of the local Asian community. Market City regularly celebrates its Asian heritage with festivals to coincide with Moon Festival and Lunar New Year as well as other events in the Sydney CBD such as Vivid Sydney and Sydney Streets Festival throughout the year.

The centre comprises of four distinct levels on top of a basement car park housing 627 bays. Ground Level is Sydney’s famous Paddy’s Markets, a major attraction for locals and tourists alike. Level One features a modern food court, Thai Kee IGA supermarket and a number of speciality stores. The second level has TK Maxx plus a variety of retail and outlet stores featuring national and international brands while the third level comprises of the 1909 Dining Precinct, and a large Timezone entertainment and games centre.

With a broad appeal, the centre caters to the needs of a number of market segments, primarily the following;

Q Super Centre is a large community based convenience centre prominently located at Mermaid Waters on the Gold Coast.

The Centre’s location is bounded by two major arterial roads, Bermuda Street running north-south (Department of Main Roads advise over 100,000 cars use this road daily) and Markeri Street running east-west (Department of Main Roads advise over 45,000 cars use this road daily).
